Tens of billions of devices will be connected to the internet in the coming years, a development referred to as the “Internet of Things.” The idea is that everything from your home coffeemaker to jet engines will be able to connect directly to the internet.
But what is the use of that connectivity? A group of experts are meeting in Portland this week to discuss that question. We talk with Serge Leef, vice president of new ventures at Wilsonville-based Mentor Graphics, about what’s truly revolutionary and what’s hype in the Internet of Things.
